You’re invited to join My EpiPen®

My husband is allergic to shellfish, among other things.  But his shellfish allergy is the one we run into most often.  Cross-contamination is very real and serious.  We don't carry his EpiPen with us all of the time, though we absolutely should.

About a month or two ago I read about someone that got a $0 copay card for their EpiPen.  I decided to look into it.  What I found was awesome!  Not only can you get the $0 copay card directly from EpiPen, but they have this set that they send out when you sign up for My EpiPen.  Supplies are limited, so don't wait too long to click on the link!  It is all free!

What the kit includes

Cards for you to fill out & hook on lunch boxes etc.

If you have a child or loved one with severe allergies that cause anaphylactic shock you understand the value of this kit.  It took a while to get, and again the supplies are limited.  I didn't receive any compensation or anything for this post.  I know how terrifying these reactions can be and hope I never have to experience them with my kids.  Another great thing when signing up for My EpiPen is you can input the prescription information and you will get reminders when they are about to expire. Have you ever needed an EpiPen only to find out it's expired?  Yep, been there.  Don't miss out on this great deal!

Kids Academy Company App Review

I was asked to review the Kids Academy Company application, which is now available in the iTunes store.  They are intended for preschool and kindergarten aged kids.  Follow the link above to arrive directly to the app.  The reason I say that is because if you search by Kids Academy Company; you will get several results, most of which are doubles.  I installed all of them on my youngest daughter's iPad Mini to try and discern the differences.  Well, there aren't any.  The apps listed that are doubled are identical except they either labeled GAME or KIDS.  I learned that by following the link above all of the apps are included in one.

The animation of the Kids Academy Company applications are bright, colorful, and engaging.  Your little one can trace letters, numbers, and shapes or sing along with B-I-N-G-O, or read along with The Three Little Pigs story.  My daughter enjoyed the tasks in the apps and loved singing along with the song.  I took some screen shots to show you what to your child will see if they are playing and learning with these apps.

Above is a screenshot of the letter color app.

Above is the animation once your child is done coloring in the letter.

Above is the B-I-N-G-O song.  After the song plays a bit this pops up on the screen, the song continues but you can no longer see the animation.

Above is a screen shot of the Five Little Monkeys story, again the story continues but you cannot see the animation any more.

The one thing that I would suggest to the company is to label these apps as LITE versions.  In my opinion, that would indicate that you are getting only a partial app.  I installed the main app on my iPad and tried it myself.  I can get through three numbers or letters before the pop-up comes telling me I need to make a purchase.  That isn't much free play.  These are cute apps and if you don't mind spending the $9.99 to purchase it, I would say go for it.  I don't think your kids will be disappointed.

Braun Forehead Thermometer-Product Review

I am always looking for the best thermometer for taking my kids' temperatures.  Which type is the best?  I have even asked the nurse at our pediatricians office, they use a forehead thermometer.  We have gone through regular digital thermometers (you know the ones that you can use rectally, under arm, or under the tongue?) and ear thermometers.  I haven't really been happy with any of them nor could I put much faith in the fact that they were accurate.

Needless to say, when I found out I was receiving the Braun Forehead Thermometer from Influenster, to test at no charge, I was thrilled.  The Braun forehead thermometer is really easy to use, I didn't even have to read the directions (not that I'm encouraging that.)  My whole family lined up to test it out.  Thankfully none of us are sick right now.

To begin using the thermometer you remove the cover from the temperature taking end and push the power button.  Wait for the thermometer to turn on and beep once, showing double zeros on the light-up screen.  Then there is a button that shows a picture of a thermometer, push that and hold it in.  Place the thermometer on a temple and run it across your forehead and back again, ending on the temple you started on.  The thermometer will beep repeatedly while you are doing this step, once you reach the end of the route there will be a long beep indicating it is finished.  A great thing about this temperature apparatus is that the screen changes color to show you if there is a fever.

The Braun forehead thermometer is super easy to use and fast.  I can take my kids' temperature while they are sleeping and they are not really bothered like they are when I am trying to put a stick under their arm.  Plus, they like having their temperature taken, they think it's fun.

If you come across this Braun Forehead Thermometer in the store, consider buying it.  It's definitely worth it.

I received a free Braun forehead thermometer from Influenster to use and review.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.
